Sports Rehabilitation at Kew Chiropractic Clinic

What is Sports Rehabilitation?

Sports Rehabilitation is designed for the treatment and management of musculoskeletal injuries. Using manual therapy and rehabilitation techniques we get your body moving in the most efficient way possible. Alex takes a biomechanical approach in diagnosing musculoskeletal injuries this therefore, means we look at how each joint is moving and then how the musculoskeletal system is reacting to each joint. Once we have given you an accurate diagnosis we then use a range of manual therapy treatment to treat the injury. With there being an emphasis on the root cause of the injury. Alex will then look to improve your overall body function so it can perform to the best of its capability. This service is not only just designed for sporting individuals, but also used to help those who want to get more out of their body.

What is included in a 45-minute rehabilitation session?

In a full 45-minute rehabilitation session we examine the whole body looking at how the musculoskeletal system is operating. We then complete a range of functional tests where we are able to establish the area of the body the problem originates from. We then provide manual treatments to help resolve the injury and tailored rehabilitation exercises to help strengthen and re-train the body to move correctly again. Once your body is moving pain-free you will then have the opportunity to optimise your health. Alex specializes in giving exercise prescription to meet individual specific health needs.

What is included in a 20- minute manual therapy session?

A 20-minute manual therapy session includes a range of soft tissue techniques aimed at relaxing tense muscles and resetting muscles back to it original state. This is beneficial for those that suffer from stiffness and poor posture.
