Our friendly team enjoy getting to know each of our patients. We welcome you to relax at our practice and feel at ease. The First Visit

On arrival at the clinic, you will be greeted by a member of staff and be asked to fill in a couple of forms. These forms provide us with your personal details as well as information regarding your present complaint and any relevant past and family medical history. There is also a form regarding private medical insurance.

The Consultation

Having completed the necessary paperwork, you will be escorted to a consultation room where chiropractors Paul or David will obtain details relevant to your condition and decide if chiropractic is right for you. We will then ask you to sign a consent form stating that you agree to an examination. If you do, we will escort you to a changing cubicle and ask you to change appropriately for the examination.

The Examination

There are three parts to the examination. The first part is carried out by one of the chiropractor’s assistants and involves recording your height, weight, blood pressure and pulse. Your posture and spinal ranges of movement are measured as well. The second part of the examination is carried out by your chiropractor, who uses more specific orthopaedic and neurological tests to identify or confirm the nature and cause of your symptoms.

Depending on the results of the examination, the chiropractor may decide that taking X-rays is necessary. They are only done if the underlying cause of your condition cannot be accurately diagnosed or if the chiropractor suspects some underlying pathological condition. We will only take them with your permission.

This visit takes about an hour. Once you are dressed and have returned to the reception, we will arrange a time for your second visit within a day or two so that the chiropractor can give you a report of our findings.

The Second Visit

At this appointment, your chiropractor will detail as much as possible the cause of your symptoms and underlying cause of your condition. He will explain

  • Whether your complaint will be successfully treated by chiropractic
  • What the treatment will involve (amount and frequency)
  • How soon we expect your symptoms to recover
  • Whether a full correction or recovery can be obtained
  • Any appropriate advice on work, exercise, lifestyle and nutrition

After the Report of Findings

When you have received all necessary information from your chiropractor, you will be asked to sign a consent form to begin treatment. A chiropractic assistant will then come in to ask if you would like to schedule any appointments in advance. The assistant will escort you to a changing cubicle so that you can change in readiness to receive your first treatment with your chiropractor.

Regular Visits

We ask that you arrive promptly at the time of your appointment. However, We appreciate this may not always be possible and ask you to telephone if you are running late. When you arrive, you will be greeted by the receptionist, shown to a changing cubicle before being shown into a treatment room.

The chiropractor will ask how you have been, examine you to determine whether your condition has changed and treat you accordingly.

A regular visit will take approximately 30 minutes depending on the type of treatment required. When completed, the chiropractor will show you back to the changing cubicle. You can then make your way back to the reception area to schedule a subsequent appointment if required, and pay for your visit.

Policy of the Clinic

The policy of the clinic is that treatment (self-pay or private medical insurance) is paid for at the time the service is provided; however, in certain cases, accounts can be set up.

If for any reason you are unable to attend for treatment, we do request 24 hours’ notice. You may be charged at the discretion of the clinic director if the appointment is not rescheduled later in the same day or within a day or two of the original appointment.
